The Role: As the title infers, the Leadership Development Managers are charged with cultivating the leadership skills of Teacher-Leaders as well as their students. In order to realize the 2050 Promise, Teach For Armenia needs Leadership Development Managers who can think holistically about the purpose of education. Meaning, Teach For Armenia’s approach to education is inclusive of not only academics, but leadership development as well. To achieve this, the Organization trains its Teacher-Leaders in Change-Based Learning so that they can support students to develop and implement Student-Led Innovation Projects that connect with what they are learning in class. A select number of Teacher-Leaders are also chosen to implement larger Community Innovation Projects, in order to further bolster impact. As “managers” of the Leadership Development Program, the Leadership Development Managers are responsible for various activities, including financial compliance for funded projects, stakeholder management, school relations, classroom performance, and other needs as required for effective program implementation.
The Team: Teach For Armenia is expanding! As it grows, the Organization has implemented a support model where its regional teams have the space to determine the strategies that make the most sense for their local contexts. To do so, each cluster has a Regional Director who oversees the entire team within a cluster. The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for placement, partnerships, among other administrative duties. Meanwhile, the Leadership Development Managers report to the Head of Region, and are in charge of implementing programs for the Teacher-Leaders as well as the Student-Leaders. The Leadership Development Managers are a critical part of its program as they bring its vision to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
For this role, the key responsibilities will include:
School Partnerships (15%)
- Foster strong ongoing relationships with school partners;
- Collaborate with teammates in order to ensure seamless communication with school partners during placement and LDP.
Teacher Leadership (75%)
- Coach Teacher-Leaders to help bring the Student Vision to life in collaboration with Course Designer and Evaluator;
- Provide coaching and support for the Student led and Community Innovation project design, implementation and reporting, including budget and impact;
- Evaluate Student Lead and Community Innovation projects based on pre-designed framework and submit to Regional Heads for final selection and approval;
- Work closely with the Learning and Innovation Team to co-create meaningful and relevant professional development opportunities for Teacher-Leaders;
- Work with Learning, design and impact team to collect, validate and make meaning of data collected from our classrooms;
- Partner with the Learning and Innovation Team to orchestrate Teacher-Leadership Academy, a 7-week off-site intensive training program.
Alumni Ambassador Support and Special Projects (10%)
- Support the Alumni Ambassador Regional Representatives team to develop localized strategies to support Alumni Ambassadors and lead initiatives to bolster their impact;
- Collaborate with regional and national teams on special initiatives.
Note: Teach For Armenia is a growing nonprofit working within a dynamic system. Its team must be agile as it grows in scale. TFA is looking for leaders who are resilient and adaptive. That is to say that responsibilities may shift over time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in Education is preferred;
- At least 2 years of work experience with demonstrated results, preferably in teaching, child welfare, or community-oriented projects;
- 1 year of leading an effective community-focused initiative;
- Experience serving as a mentor or coach is preferred;
- Fluency in Armenian language; proficiency in English language is strongly encouraged.
For this role specifically, Teach For Armenia is also looking for a candidate who possesses the following key competencies:
- Pedagogy: Teach For Armenia’s primary focus is to promote nation-wide transformation through education. For that reason, it needs Leadership Development Managers who understand what it takes to foster student leadership and agency through innovative teaching methods like Change-Based Learning;
- Change Management: Teach For Armenia’s Leadership Framework is grounded in the development of innovative thinking and the ability to drive change. For that reason, our Leadership Development Managers need to demonstrate an understanding of the competencies necessary to lead change management;
- Coaching: Being a Teacher-Leader is challenging. The participants need the Leadership Development Managers to serve as coaches who will practice deep listening and help them overcome obstacles and grow as leaders;
- Stakeholder Management: As an organization, Teach For Armenia cannot do its work without the support of the government and its schools. The Leadership Development Managers help the organization to maintain strong partnerships by building a rapport with the school leaders, and possibly regional government officials;
- Program Management: As “managers” of Teach For Armenia’s two-year Leadership Development Program, Leadership Development Managers must be able to manage multiple processes, including financial compliance of funded projects, performance evaluation, data collection, as well as other activities required for successful program implementation.
