JOB DESCRIPTION
: 
Internews seeks an Advisor for the Media Program in Armenia (MPA) to support to set the strategy, the legal set-up and governance of Media Support Fund, as well to provide relevant organizational capacity building.
The MPA enhances the professional and organizational capacity of media outlets to strengthen their editorial independence and increase their reach and impact across Armenian society through quality content. The project will provide support to improve the financial viability of editorially independent media and help institutionalize a funding source for public interest media; advance media literacy efforts to empower citizens and civic and political leaders to consume and engage with information critically and understand the role of ethical media.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
- Develop a strategy for the Media Support Fund (forthwith MSF);
- Develop a roadmap for incorporation of the new institution and its initial governance and oversight structures;
- Set up the legal governance of the MSF;
- Provide relevant organizational capacity building for the MSF;
- Develop the management structure of the MSF through a collaborative process with all key Media Program in Armenia (forthwith MPA) stakeholders;
- As part of the project’s expert staff, oversee the institutionalization and capacity building for the MSF entity;
- Work with project staff, implementing partners, and experts to effectively study the feasibility of, design, set up, and oversee a sustainable MSF;
- Maintain regular communication with the Project team, organize administrative and documentation issues, provide support and conduct training sessions if necessary;
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Internews management;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- Ability to work in Armenia;
- At least two years of experience in media with legal backgrounds;
- Previous experience in setting up similar funds would be an asset;
- Knowledge of relevant Armenian legislation;
- Strong understanding of the media landscape, its needs and growing potential;
- Experience in the implementation of international best practices;
- Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience;
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office;
- Proficiency in Armenian and English languages;
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize a shifting workload, and meet deadlines;
- General familiarity with political, economic, and social issues in Armenia.
