About Teach For Armenia.
Teach For Armenia is building a movement of leaders who will reshape what it means to provide an excellent education for all children across the nation.Teach For Armenia aims to cultivate students who can harness their voices and shape a changing world while being committed to their communities. This will require support at every level of leadership, from Teach For Armenia teachers in the classroom, to the highest-ranking officials. Teach For Armenia aims to accomplish this vision by recruiting promising leaders, both in Armenia and from across the diaspora, to teach for a 2-year commitment in schools where their knowledge and skills are needed. In the long-run, Teach For Armenia is cultivating a network of changemakers, inclusive of its students, their communities, its Alumni, government officials, community partners, supporters, and affiliates from across Teach For All.
About the World Bank-financed project:
The “Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Armenian schools” project is being implemented jointly by the World Bank and the Teach for Armenia Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, the National Center for Education Development and Innovation, and the Armenian State Pedagogical University. The project is funded by a grant from the State and Peacebuilding Umbrella Trust Fund (SPF) at the World Bank.
The overall goal of the Project is to improve mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of children and adolescents in selected schools of Armenia.
Within the scope of the project, 450 schools will be identified. Among these, 225 schools will be randomly selected to comprise the treatment group, while the remaining 225 schools will serve as the control group. The program will run in three waves, with 150 schools in each wave (75 treatment schools and 75 control schools). In the 75 schools designated as the treatment group in each wave, an intensive training program will be implemented for the school staff.
The Role:
The Human Resources (HR) Officer will be responsible for compliance, coordination, and efficiency of the HR processes within the scope of the “Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Armenian schools” project. This includes the coordination of hiring processes for the project staff and supporting various HR administrative tasks, including contract administration under operating cost of the project. The HR officer will undergo short onboarding to learn more about the Teach For Armenia`s HR guidelines.
The Team:
The HR Officer will report to the Project Lead. The HR Officer will support the hiring process for all project staff and set up as well as manage a team of about four Selection Specialists to select 150 mentors within 1-2 months. These mentors will be allocated to various schools in different regions of Armenia to train school staff on mental health and psychosocial wellbeing.

ՊԱՐՏԱԿԱՆՈւԹՅՈւՆՆԵՐ

For this role, the key responsibilities will include:
Hiring of the Project team and Project's Evaluation Body (70%):
- Support the hiring process of new employees, starting from announcement posting and ending with rejection letters (expected but not exhaustive list of hires: 15 mental health experts, 150 mentors (there will be a team of Selection Specialists to support), 2 social workers, a firm for data collection, a team of about 4 Selection Specialists);
- Identify and source high-potential candidates through LinkedIn and other networks;
- Evaluate all candidates according to relevant selection criteria as part of the Project Evaluation Body (the Project Evaluation Body will consist of three individuals, one of whom will be the HR Officer);
- Organize and maintain all applicants' records (both rejected and accepted) in a Google Drive database if necessary;
- Execute the full cycle of administrative documentation and ensure the accuracy of all documentation in accordance with RA laws, Teach For Armenia Internal Policies and Procedures, under the Project’s operating cost.
Managing Selection Specialists (30%):
- Set up a team of about 4 Selection Specialists and oversee their contract management in accordance with RA laws, Teach For Armenia Internal Policies and Procedures;
- Oversee the work of about 4 Selection Specialists and with their support hire 150 mentors to train school staff.
ԱՆՀՐԱԺԵՇՏ ՈՐԱԿԱՎՈՐՈՒՄՆԵՐ

For this role specifically, Teach For Armenia is also looking for a candidate who possesses the following key competencies:
Hiring: The biggest priority for the HR Officer will be the coordination of hiring processes in collaboration with the Project Lead.
Strong Administration skills: It is important for the HR Officer to have strong administration skills for organizing and maintaining employee records, files and databases.
Communication and Cross-Collaboration: The HR Officer should have strong communication skills to interact with both internal staff and external people (job candidates, etc.).
Management Skills: Management skills are invaluable for this role. These skills focus on achieving specific goals within a specified time and managing the team of Selection Specialists.
Aside from these core competencies, we are also looking for the following
qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in HR or recruitment;
- Fluency in Armenian as well as working level of English are required;
- At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree (required).
