JOB DESCRIPTION

Chemonics is seeking applications to fill the vacancy for the position of Grants and Procurement Assistant. The Grants and Procurement Assistant will support the Operations and Finance team to ensure efficient operations, financial management, human resources administration, procurement, and compliance with USAID regulations, Chemonics policies, and local law. The team will also manage the Activity Strategic Implementation Fund, including grants and subcontracts, to ensure interventions are impactful, cost-efficient, and in line with all applicable regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
Grants and Procurement Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist the Strategic Implementation Fund (SIF) Manager as needed, including in ensuring all grants and procurements are compliant with most recent USAID regulations, Chemonics policies, and local laws, as applicable.
- Work directly with local, regional, or international vendors and service providers to obtain quotations and/or initiate procurements of requested commodities and services.
- Make efforts where possible to streamline the grants and procurement process through establishing appropriate agreements with vendors.
- Support the procurement of commodities and professional services for the field office.
- Draft appropriate documentation and/or provide information for grants and procurement approvals/waivers as applicable for review by the SIF Manager.
- Track the status of all procurement transactions in the procurement tracker.
- Arrange grants and procurement meetings as needed.
- Maintain clear and concise grants and procurement files that document project compliance with USAID rules and regulations, Chemonics policies and procedures, as well as local, third country, or US government rules.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the SIF Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- Academic degree in management, business administration or related field;
- At least two years of experience working with grants and subcontracts for donor-funded development projects;
- Proficiency in written and oral English.
