JOB DESCRIPTION :
Chemonics seeks Technical Experts for the anticipated USAID Armenia Disaster Resilience Activity (DRA), which is expected to develop the country's capacity to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and human-caused disasters. The activity will look to leverage changing roles and responsibilities in Armenia's disaster response system, as well as to reduce Armenia's vulnerability to disasters through mitigation efforts, making Armenia's economic, social, health, and environmental systems more resilient. The activity will also provide USAID/Armenia the flexibility to support disaster response and recovery interventions. This activity is currently on the USAID business forecast with an anticipated solicitation release date of November 20, 2023.Chemonics is seeking mid- and senior-level technical specialists in the following areas:
- Strategic communications;
- Risk information systems for disaster and climate resilience;
- Government affairs;
- Response and recovery funds for management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, disaster and emergency management, security studies, emergency services and preparedness. An advanced degree is preferred;- At least five years of demons; trated technical expertise and experience designing and managing programming in one or more of the technical areas outlined above is required;
- Experience working on USAID–funded activities is preferred;
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Armenian required. Knowledge of the Russian language is a plus.
