Summary of Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Canada-based Management and Consular Manager processes passport applications and citizenship documents for Canadian citizens abroad; provides consular support services to Canadians; maintains lists, plans and databases; responds to emergency situations involving Canadians in distress; supports the development of contingency planning and outreach programs; provides administrative and financial services in support of consular; and performs other duties as required.
Area of Selection:
This position is open to external applicants who are legal residents or citizens of Armenia, who hold current documentation allowing them to work in Armenia without restriction, who meet all of the essential requirements stated and whose applications are received by the closing date.
Please note that the Embassy of Canada to Armenia, in Yerevan does not sponsor work authorizations directly or indirectly.

ԱՆՀՐԱԺԵՇՏ ՈՐԱԿԱՎՈՐՈՒՄՆԵՐ

Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language* and experience.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet each of these essential qualifications.
*Language will be assessed further during the process.
Education:
- Candidates will be required to provide proof of the completion of their education.
- University or college degree (minimum equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree), in relevant field of study or relevant experience
Language:
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking)
- Proficiency in Armenian (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking)
- Proficiency in French (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working within an office environment in an administrative support or program assistant capacity for a corporate organization, foreign mission, government office or international organization;
- Minimum 2 years of experience providing effective client service and dealing with the public (in person, by telephone, and electronic messaging).
RATED REQUIREMENTS
The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of Canadian cultural, legal and political landscape
Competencies:
- Demonstrate initiative
- Client focus
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work efficiently with people from diverse cultures
- Strong communication skills in oral & written form and in the required languages
- Professional integrity, discretion and sound judgement
Abilities:
- Ability to research, analyze and evaluate information effectively
- Ability to complete online training, prioritize, manage deadlines, work under pressure and with attention to detail/ accuracy.
Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
- Familiarity with local administrative and governmental procedures related to expatriate residents
- Experience with government databases including data entry
- Experience in collection and/or verification of information, as well as quality control
- Experience in administration of fees and/or monitoring financial expenditures

Operational Requirements:
- Hours of work: 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday).
- Occasionally required to work overtime.
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Please note that the Embassy operates a schedule of public holidays according to a combination of Armenian and Canadian holidays, which means the selected candidate will be required to work on certain Armenian holidays.
