JOB DESCRIPTION

The Public Partnerships Director will take the lead cultivating relationships with various government stakeholders, from the Minister of Education and the Prime Minister of Armenia to regional governors and multilateral organization. The Public Partnerships Director will serve as a member of the broader External Affairs Division, which includes Private Partnerships, Public Partnerships, Regional Partnerships, as well as Marketing and Brand Strategy Departments. Together, the division focuses on making sure that Teach For Armenia becomes an enduring institution, both in terms of financial as well as government support. The entire division is overseen by the Managing Director for External Affairs, who will serve as this individual's manager. Meanwhile, the Public Partnerships Director will directly manage the Public Partnerships Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
For this role, the key responsibilities will include:
Cultivate Strong Government Support (30%)
- Ensure that Teach For Armenia continues to secure support from the government for its programs;
- Support team to develop Teach For Armenia's Policy Paper and Policy Priorities while leading advocacy efforts;
- Maintain strong partnerships with regional governors and local stakeholders in order to ensure continue placement of the Teacher-Leaders;
- Pursue funding from government entities for TFA programs;
- Partner with government entities in order to bolster the Organization's visibility.
Drive Partnerships with Multilateral Agencies (30%)
- Cultivate relationships with international organizations such as UNICEF, the World Bank, USAID, AGBU, among others in order to garner financial support;
- Partner with multilateral agencies in order to bolster the Organization's visibility.
Maintain Database, Track Progress and Oversee Communication (20%)
- Leverage platforms such as Salesforce and Asana to steward relationships, analyze gaps, and track progress towards goals;
- Coordinate fundraising actions across the public partnerships by streamlining processes and communication.
Leading Team (10%)
- Invest in the development of the Public Partnerships while ensuring that the department achieves its goals.
Participating in Org-Wide and Cross-Collaborative Initiatives (10%)
- Alongside with other directors and staff participate at regular org-wide events and initiatives to build up on the organizational culture and be a part of the key strategic meetings and events;
- Serve on other working groups and projects as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

For this role specifically, Teach For Armenia is looking for a candidate who possesses the following key competencies:
- Leading Team: As a leadership development organization, Teach For Armenia believes it is important to support its staff as they grow. The Public Partnerships Director will be responsible for supporting, coaching, and developing his/ her team;
- Stakeholder Management: Teach For Armenia has garnered tremendous support, both in Armenia and abroad. From the Prime Minister of Armenia to leaders at the World Bank, the Public Partnerships Director must be a master of navigating relationships with government stakeholders and leaders from multilateral agencies;
- Fundraising: Teach For Armenia is moving out of the startup phase and preparing for scale. It is important for this individual to cultivate relationships with government stakeholders and multilaterals in order to fundraise;
- Policy Advocacy: As Teach For Armenia continues to grow in influence, the Organization aims to be more strategic in prioritizing key policy areas by mobilizing its Alumni Ambassadors, Student Ambassadors, and supporters. The Public Partnerships Director should be comfortable formulating a policy stance while investing others in the process;
- Event Coordination: Throughout the year, the Organization hosts events in order to engage stakeholders, such as education forums. The Public Partnership Director's role will ensure the events are holding up a high standard both for the content and logistics.
Aside from these core competencies, Teach For Armenia is are also looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience leading teams is preferred;
- Fluency in Armenian and English languages; proficiency in Russian language is a plus;
- Demonstrated track record of success in government relations and/ or experience with multilateral institutions;
- Demonstrated track record of success with fundraising with quantifiable results is preferred;
- Special consideration will be given to candidates who possess fundraising experience both locally in Armenia as well as across the Diaspora;
- At least a bachelor's degree; however, many staff members at Teach For Armenia possess a master's degree or higher;
- A meaningful personal connection to the Armenian context.
