Chemonics is seeking a technical expert for the upcoming for the upcoming $25-50 million USAID Armenia Food Security activity. The Food Security activity will aim to increase domestic production of critical agricultural value chains to increase food security and reduce dependence on imports. Technical expert position will be based in Yerevan, Armenia.
Chemonics is seeking a technical specialist who can cover all of the following areas:
- Agricultural value chain strengthening, especially focused on the production of staple crops;
- Extension services development;
- Agriculture sector knowledge management (including digital and web-based agriculture information);
- Food security early warning systems;
- Food systems and disaster response and recovery management;
- Youth engagement and vocational education;
- Strategic communications;
- Public-private partnerships.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, agriculture, food security, disaster and emergency management. An advanced degree is preferred;
- At least five years of demonstrated technical expertise and experience designing and managing programming in one or more of the technical areas outlined above is required;
- Experience working on USAID–funded and/ or other donor-funded programs strongly preferred;
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Armenian required. The Russian language is a plus.
